| COUNSELING DEPARTMENT |
PHILOSOPHY
The philosophy of the counseling department reinforces and adheres to the philosophy of Rosary High School. The department is committed to recognizing each student as an individual and as a person of faith. Opportunities and encouragement are provided by each member of the counseling department to help all students develop a growing sense of responsibility for their personal/academic choices.
Every Rosary student is given the chance to be well prepared for her academic future with the necessary skills for a fulfilled and balanced life. Academically, the department evaluates each student's intellectual/academic achievements and insures proper class placement. Counseling members work collaboratively with the administration, faculty, parents, and the community-at-large to provide opportunities that will enable students to set goals, establish priorities, and make informed decisions. In working with students on present curriculum, personal/community issues, as well as future life plans, the department assists them in becoming effective communicators and critical thinkers.
The Counseling Department of Rosary High School is an active participant and advocate in the life of each student. The department is aware of the ethnically diverse and rapidly changing demographics of the student population. A sensitivity to individuality is present in the relationship between counselor and student. In support of the school philosophy, the counseling department goes beyond the obvious academic responsibility to each student and seeks to help develop a holistic woman who acknowledges and refines the spiritual, intellectual, physical, and psychological dimensions of life.
